Touring North Adams

November was a big month for us. We celebrated 10 years of loving each other, my survival of the first trimester of my second pregnancy, and Brent’s 35th birthday. Since the summer we’ve had our eye on the motel Tourists Welcome after I saw it on good ole’ instagram, so for Brent’s birthday I booked us a stay for a long weekend. After a beautiful wedding season, a challenging few weeks of pregnancy and lots of editing, I felt it was the perfect time for us to slow down, unplug, and enjoy each other’s company outside of our home.

It was our second time in North Adams as a family, so we were familiar with the area and decided to venture out on little day trips instead of staying close by. The last time we were in North Adams was during Labor Day weekend, and we visited Mount Greylock as well as Mass MoCA, so we skipped both this time around but look forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the pool, and a bit of hiking. Below are some photos from our weekend.

Looking for things to do in the area? Here’s what we did over the weekend.

Places to eat:

Brewhaha (breakfast), Grazie (Italian) and Trailhouse (American cuisine) Bright Ideas Brewing (Beer and pizza) - we also really enjoyed the food from the lodge in the hotel. I’ve been on a beet kick lately and their beet salad was to die for.

Places to go:

We traveled to Bennington, VT as well as Manchester, VT for a little sight seeing and walking. Bennington was only 30 minutes away, and Manchester was about an hour. If you want to stay local, head over to Mass MoCA, or go for a hike at Mt. Greylock.
